This past February I wrote a story asking this question:
Should There Be A Brand Jordan Soccer Athlete?
My answer to this was an emphatic yes. I even offered up Neymar as one of the two people I could imagine being the first soccer star to do something with Jordan. And now it appears that Brand Jordan and Neymar Jr. will in fact work on something together (holler at me brand Jordan). Multiples sources are saying that we will see brand Jordan and Neymar collaborate on a Jordan V in 2016.
I don’t want to say I was the first to bring this subject to the people. But I think I was the first person tho bring this question to the people.
Now, I realize that doesn’t mean that Neymar will become a Jordan brand athlete. But, and this is a big but I’m my opinion. This is a very big deal. Certain things result in mad crossover potential. Certain things transcend a genre. Doing a colab with brand Jordan is one of those things. Especially if the execution is done the right way.
Word on the streets is that the Jordan x Neymar Jordan V sneaker will drop sometime in fall 2016. Anyway I can get on a list for this?
