With the 2014-15 season wrapping up in European leagues, Nike is already unveiling what some of their biggest sponsored teams kits will look like next season. Nike has released imagery and information for the kits for Barcelona, Inter Milan and PSG for next season.
Each jersey features Dri- Fit technology that Nike describes below:
Nike Dri-FIT technology draws sweat away from the body to the exterior of the shirts and shorts where it quickly evaporates. This allows players to perform at their best by remaining cooler, drier and more comfortable.
The laser-cut ventilation holes and mesh panels in key areas of the kit are designed to improve performance by increasing air circulation to the players’ bodies and helping regulate their temperatures.
The jersey is crafted using a full mesh fabric – this makes up the full front and back panel of the shirt, increasing airflow and facilitating enhanced movement.
In addition to the Dri-Fit, the jerseys are made from recycled bottles. This is such an amazing ways to produce jerseys. They have been doing it for awhile and yet I am still amazed that bottles are being reimagined into jerseys as opposed to just taking up space in a landfill.
Nike places sustainable innovation at the heart of its kits through the use of recycled polyester, delivering unrivalled performance and lower environmental impact.
Each piece of the kit – the shirt, shorts and socks – is constructed with recycled polyester, which is made from recycled plastic bottles that are melted down to produce fine yarn used to create the fabric. Each kit is made using an average of 18 recycled plastic bottles. Since 2010, Nike has diverted more than 2 billion plastic bottles from landfills into recycled polyester – enough to cover about 3,500 football pitches.
